Point Earned, Streak Secured: Devils Outlast Penguins 2-1 in SO Thriller

The New Jersey Devils ultimately prevailed in the shootout, defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 to secure their second consecutive victory and extend their perfect season-opening home winning streak to seven games. The Devils' win was anchored by netminder Jake Allen, who stopped a stunning 33 of 34 shots through regulation and overtime. Across the ice, the resilient Penguins earned a crucial point, thanks to rookie Arturs Silovs—who turned away 23 of 24 shots while holding the Devils' potent offense in check, an impressive feat for an injury-riddled squad missing six key players. NHL 'Frozen Frenzy' Highlights




   For the first time ever, ESPN held a 'Frozen Frenzy' broadcast on Tuesday. The NHL 'Frozen Frenzy' is all 32 teams playing against each other in 16 games. The ESPN broadcast showed live look-ins of all 16 games. Personally, I thought the 'Frozen Frenzy' was a cool idea and ESPN did great going from game to game. It was a pretty chaotic night for me and any other hockey fans that like more than one team!




With every team playing in one night, there is a LOT that can happen, so here are the highlights!



Maple Leafs vs Capitals


- Alex Ovechkin got his first goal of the season


- The 4th Toronto Maple Leafs win of the season


Hurricanes vs Lightning


- Jonas Johansson's first shutout of the season and the second shutout of his career


Sabres vs Senators


- Nothing real crazy happened, but the Senators lost.. Anton Forsberg has a really cool helmet though!!


Devils vs Canadiens


- Tyler Toffoli got a hat trick!


- Jack Hughes got 4 assists


Stars vs Penguins


- Jason Robertson got his first goal of the season, tying the game 1-1


- John Ludvig gets a concussion, welcome to the NHL Ludvig!


Sharks vs Panthers


- Nothing much happened here either, but the Panthers did get a good win!


Avalanche vs Islanders


- Tie after tie.. Colorado wins!!


Kraken vs Red Wings


- Went into overtime, Kraken getting the win


- I also want to add in, the admin of the Kraken 'X' account is one of the best admins!

Ducks vs Blue Jackets

- Not much other than the game being another overtime game, Ducks getting the win

Blues vs Jets

- Blues took the L while the Jets got the W

Canucks vs Predators

- Nothing much happened other than the fact that the Canucks beat the Predators!!

Oilers vs Wild

- Ryan Hartman gets a hat trick, one of the two hat tricks of the night!

- Minnesota gets a good win, 7-4

Bruins vs Blackhawks

- Matt Poitras gets his third NHL goal!!

- Jakub Lauko takes a skate to the face, seems like he's doing alright though due to his recent tweet! (link at the end)

Rangers vs Flames

- Blake Coleman hits the 200-point mark!

Coyotes vs Kings

- Nothing much other than the Kings taking the W

Flyers vs Golden Knights

- Cam Atkinson scores his 4th goal of the season

- Carter Hart played very well!! (Just had to add this in, he's a great goaltender)

- It's been said that Paul Cotter scored the best goal during the 'Frozen Frenzy'



   Those are the highlights from all 16 games. Whether boring or chaotic, so much happened in one night!
