Forever "Flower": The Goalie Who Captured Pittsburgh's Heart

Graphic: Genevive Oliver When you talk about players who truly defined the Pittsburgh Penguins, a name that isn't just on the list, but at the very top for so many fans is Marc-Andre Fleury. 'Flower,' as he was universally known, wasn't just a goaltender; he was a defining presence for over a decade, famous for his heart-stopping saves, that famous smile, and a sheer dedication that never wavered. His career wasn't just about stats; it was a remarkable journey from a highly anticipated first overall pick to a three-time Stanley Cup champion, a testament to his remarkable perseverance, unwavering development, and the deep, enduring connection he forged with Pittsburgh. The Budding Star: From First Pick to Full-Time Starter On draft day in 2003, when the Pittsburgh Penguins made the bold move of selecting Marc-Andre Fleury first overall - a rare and significant distinction for a goaltender - is when the excitement began. New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes is back!

Devils' star Jack Hughes has been out the past 5 games due to a shoulder injury 2 weeks ago on November 3rd. He cut through a pair of defensemen on St. Louis, took a shot on goal, then crashed into the end boards. Hughes made a brief return to the ice, eventually leaving for good.

Unfortunately, the Devils lost against St. Louis with a 4-1 score.

"It's tough," Curtis Lazar said after their loss in St. Louis. "Look at the start he's had. I'm not going to lie, we were a little dejected when it happened. But, again, you've got to kind of turn the page when you realize he's not coming back."

During this game, the Devils were also without their captain, Nico Hischier, due to an upper-body injury. He's been out of the lineup since October 27th when New Jersey played against the Buffalo Sabres.

"Great second-effort goal around the front of the net," Ruff said. "I thought that goal got us going, and we had a lot of good zone time after that."

Today, November 17th, the Devils announced that Jack Hughes was out on the ice for practice! After 2 weeks of suffering an upper-body injury, the star is back and can hopefully play in tomorrow's game against the New York Rangers.

Hughes will be a game time decision to play tomorrow night.
