Across the ice, the resilient Penguins earned a crucial point, thanks to rookie Arturs Silovs—who turned away 23 of 24 shots while holding the Devils' potent offense in check, an impressive feat for an injury-riddled squad missing six key players. A Crazy Night In Jersey For The Devils And Blackhawks! 1/5/24

 






   The Devils played against the Blackhawks in Jersey on Friday, January 5th. For most of the game, it wasn't eventful with goals, instead, it was full fights and penalties. The Devils ended up winning with a 4-2 score.

   Connor Bedard took a hit from Brendan Smith and Connor Murphy lays a hit on Nico Hischier soon after Bedard goes to the locker room, no updates on Bedard currently.. hoping he is okay! - Nico Hischier doing the same for the remainder of first period, but did return for second. Jason Dickinson scores the first goal of the night, that being the only goal for first - 1-0.


   Before Alexander Holtz tied up the game - Nick Foligno dropped his gloves with Brendan Smith after he had injured Connor Bedard. Soon after, Holtz tied the game and Boris Katchouk takes back the lead for the Blackhawks. The final score of second period being 2-1.


   Simon Nemec ties the game back up! Michael McLeod gets the Devils back in the lead, 3-2. Jack Hughes also went down the tunnel - currently no update, but hoping he can play tomorrow for the Hughes Bowl.. With only seconds left in third, Tyler Toffoli scores an empty-netter! The final score being 4-2.



"I think I showed my offense skill and I'm really happy to have scored my first goal," Simon Nemec said. "Sometimes it's hard because all the guys are so skilled - but I think I found my game on the ice."

  1. Interestingly enough, from what I have been reading on social media, even Blackhawks fans are claiming that was a "clean hit". I'm not sure. I thought so too but...
    Bedard has gotta try to keep his head up.
