Avalanche 7-4 Win Against The Senators, 1/16/24

   The Avalanche went to Ottawa and took the W on Tuesday, January 16th! Colorado won with a 7-4 score against the Senators - a good win for the Avalanche after their 4-3 loss on January 15th.

   Drake Batherson strikes first, putting the Senators in the lead... Mikko Rantanen scores soon after, tying up the game. The final score of the first period was 1-1.


   Ridly Greig puts the Senators back on top early in the middle frame! Jason Polin scores his first NHL goal, tying the game back up - 2-2. Ridly Greig strikes again, taking the lead for Ottawa - Jake Sanderson scoring another for the Senators not long after Greig's second goal. Sam Malinski scored - it was determined that the play was offsides. Mikko Rantanen nets another! 4-3 was the final score of the second period.


   Miles Wood scores his seventh of the season and ties up the game, 4-4. Sam Malinski scored and it was NOT offsides this time! Logan O'Connor nets one, his eighth of the season. Devon Toews scores an empty-netter, 7-4 was the final score overall!



"I think the first goal is obviously memorable. It was a great play by Sam to get it up to him and then you see his goal goal-scorer instincts that were so successful in college sort of pay off there. It was a great shot." Logan O'Connor spoke to the media after the Avalanche 7-4 win, talking about Jason Polin's first NHL goal.
