Buffalo Sabres 5-3 Win Against Ottawa 1/11/24

   The Senators played in Buffalo against the Sabres on Thursday, January 11th. The Sabres won with a 5-3 score, this being a good win for Buffalo after their 5-2 loss against the Seattle Kraken.

   JJ Peterka gets Buffalo on the board, and the Sabres are in the lead. Vladimir Tarasenko ties up the game! Tage Thompson gets the Sabres back in the lead by one - Thompson strikes another with 28 seconds remaining in the first frame. 3-1 was the final score of the first period.


   Peyton Krebs scores the fourth goal for the Sabres - this also being the only goal in the middle frame, 4-1 was the final.


   Claude Giroux gets one back early in the third period - Giroux strikes again, his 12th of the season. Dylan Cozens scores an empty-netter! The final overall score was 5-3.



"We're in a pretty similar situation with them - a young team, and they have a lot of skilled players as do we. We know that they're a team we're going to be competing with for a long time." Dylan Cozens said after the Sabres win against Ottawa.



- Ramus Dahlin recorded the primary assist on both of Thompson's goals - also recording five points in the last four games. He tallied an assist on 31 goals total scored by Tage Thompson in his career, 21 of those assists have been primary assists.

- Anton Forsberg did not return for the next two periods - he sustained a right groin injury in the first period
