Connor Bedard Injury Update - Hit From Brendan Smith on 1/5/24

 







   The Blackhawks played in Jersey on Friday, January 5th. The game was more fights and penalties than goals after Connor Bedard took a hit from Brendan Smith. The Devils did end up winning with a 4-2 score in the third after the Blackhawks were in the lead with a 2-1 score.


   Soon into the first period, Connor Bedard took a big hit from Brendan Smith. Bedard had left for the remainder of the game and no updates.. the rest of the game was full of constant fights and penalties, and a few other players also went to the locker room.

   Nico Hischier went to the locker room soon after Bedard due to a hit by Connor Murphy, but he returned in the second period. Jack Hughes and Nick Foligno left the game later on - no updates on Jack Hughes, but Nick Foligno has a fractured left finger while Connor Bedard has a fractured jaw. Both Bedard and Foligno are on injured reserve.
