Devils Fall To The Canucks In New Jersey 6-4, 1/6/24

 






   The Devils and Canucks had their Hughes Bowl 2.0 on Saturday, January 6th. Unfortunately, Jack Hughes wasn't out tonight - So, so it wasn't a complete Hughes Bowl 2.0 .. However, this was a great game! The Vancouver Canucks won with a 6-4 score.

   Brock Boeser scored - It was challenged by New Jersey and ended up being no goal due to goaltender interference. The score after the first period was 0-0.


   Elias Pettersson gets the Canucks started early in the second, scoring his 16th of the season. J. T. Miller scores the second for Vancouver at the 16:27 mark - Miller nets another soon after! Colin Miller scores the first goal for the Devils, this also being his first as a Devil! Erik Haula nets one with only seconds left in second - Connor Garland answers back with only 10 seconds left. The final score of the second period was 4-2.


   Elias Pettersson scores his second of the night early in the third! Colin Miller scores his second of the night and his second goal as a Devil - Brendan Smith scores soon after getting the Devils to 4 goals. Dakota Joshua scores the last goal of the night late in the third, the final score being 6-4.




"I thought that there's some good and bad," Erik Haula said. "They had such a good start, and we didn't match that."

- Jack Hughes wasn't out tonight, upper-body injury

- Graeme Clarke made his NHL debut tonight!

- Erik Haula and Jesper Bratt both wore A's for the Devils due to Jack Hughes and Ondrej Palat not being in the lineup.

- Quinn Hughes now holds the franchise record for most multi-point games by a Canucks defenseman with 69.

- Erik Haula hit 300 Career NHL points

- 100th Career Win for Thatcher Demko - Also in the top 5 in Canucks history with the most franchise wins!
