Edmonton hits 16 straight wins, defeating the Nashville Predators 4-1 1/27/24

   The Predators played against the Oilers in Edmonton at Rogers Place on Saturday, January 27th. The Edmonton Oilers earned their 16th straight victory, the longest win streak in this NHL season.

   Getting Edmonton the 1-0 lead, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his 12th goal of the season. Leon Draisaitl waited for some space to open up before passing it off to Nugent-Hopkins to score on the power play. Escaping the first frame with a 1-0 score, Stuart Skinner made sure to keep out any shots from the Predators.


   Leon Draisaitl earned his 800th career point with a shot from the right circle on the power play, giving the Oilers a 2-0 lead. With a couple passes, Nugent-Hopkins passed the puck to Draisaitl, who passed it to Connor McDavid, and instead of McDavid taking the shot - he sent it right back to Leon Draisaitl to earn his 800th. The final score of the middle frame was 2-0.


   Connor McDavid nets one from behind the net, giving Edmonton the 3-0 lead. McDavid scored his 20th goal of the season. Getting the first and only goal for Nashville, Colton Sissons gets one in to keep the Predators from being shutout. Zach Hyman strikes his 30th goal of the season into the empty net with 3:19 remaining in the final period.

- Stuart Skinner made 28 saves for Edmonton

- With a goal and an assist, Leon Draisaitl got to 800 career points

- In the 2023-24 season for the Oilers, Connor McDavid hit the longest home point streak (18) in franchise history.

- Leon Draisaitl made it to the list of the fewest games to 800 NHL points with 683 games.
