Edmonton strikes first - Warren Foegele opens the scoring on the power play with his 10th goal of the season. In the middle frame, Connor McDavid thought he got Edmonton a 2-1 lead... the Blue Jackets successfully challenged that the goal by McDavid was offsides. The Blue Jackets and the Oilers stay locked at 1-1.
Evander Kane finds the rebound, giving Edmonton the 2-1 lead this time. Kane found the rebound after Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had hit the post. Connor McDavid made it a 3-1 lead just 55 seconds after Kane's goal. McDavid's shot went over Elvis Merzlikins after he had been knocked into the ice, and the puck went into the net. Dylan Holloway strikes his second of the season, making it a 4-1 lead with four minutes to go.
