   The Seattle Kraken lost against the Sharks in San Jose at the SAP Center on Tuesday, January 30th. The Sharks had their first shutout of the season in their 2-0 win against the Kraken... Mackenzie Blackwood made 32 saves for San Jose.

   Both the first and second periods were completely scoreless... 0-0.


   Breaking the 0-0 tie, Marc-Edouard Vlasic gave the Sharks the 1-0 lead. Ty Emberson set up Vlasic for a wrist shot... Vlasic has scored a goal in both of his last two games and three in his last five after being a scratch in 22 games this season. Jan Rutta strikes his third goal of the season with an empty-netter with 21 seconds remaining, wrapping up the game with a 2-0 final.



Notes:

- Both of the games on Tuesday, January 30th went through the first two periods completely scoreless, as well as a shutout for the winning team's goalies.

- Mackenzie Blackwood picked up his ninth career shutout

- Mackenzie Blackwood had his first shutout since December 8th, 2021 when he made 25 saves for the New Jersey Devils.

- Jan Rutta extended his point streak to five games

- The Kraken outshot the Sharks 32-22,13-3 in the first period

- Joe Daccord stopped 20 shots for Seattle



Joey Daccord on the Kraken's 2-0 loss against San Jose: "I thought we played great. Generated a lot of offense, and carried most of the play. Their goalie played unreal. Sometimes a goalie of that caliber can do that so, he stole a game for them tonight."
