Red Wings 3-2 OT Win Against The Panthers 1/17/24

   The Red Wings played against the Panthers in Florida on Wednesday, January 17th. Detroit won with a 3-2 score in overtime! It could've gone either way, but it was a great win for the Red Wings.

   The first period was completely scoreless, 0-0.


   Sam Reinhart strikes the first goal of the game. Michael Rasmussen ties up the game with his 10th of the season. Gustav Forsling takes it right back, putting the Panthers in the lead. 2-1 was the final score of the second period.


   Robby Fabbri ties up the game 2-2 with 13:45 remaining in the third period. The Red Wings and Panthers head into overtime with a 2-2 score.


   Dylan Larkin wins it for the Red Wings with his 18th goal of the season!



"It always feels good to beat the team that you played for last year. But, I have a lot of respect for those guys and they have a fantastic team over there. They played really well tonight and I'm just super happy for the boys - I'm proud of the way we battled back." Alex Lyon spoke after the Red Wings OT win.

- Sam Reinhart joined Radek Dvorak as the second player in the Panther's history to score a shorthanded goal in consecutive games. Reinhart also joined Pavel Bure as the second player in Panthers history with 20 special-teams goals in a single season.
