Andrei Kuzmenko scored his first as a Flame in a 4-1 win against the Boston Bruins, 2/6/24

   The Calgary Flames played against the Bruins in Boston on Tuesday, February 6th. The Bruins unfortunately had a rough game, only getting one goal in to keep them from being shutout. However, it was a good 4-1 win for the Flames and a memorable game for Andrei Kuzmenko, who scored his first goal as a Flame.

   Scoring his first goal as a Flame to get Calgary the 1-0 lead - Andrei Kuzmenko scored on the power play with 15:40 remaining in the first period. Kuzmenko finished off Jonathan Huberdreau's cross-ice pass and got the puck past Jeremy Swayman. Connor Zary drove across the crease and scored with a backhand around Swayman at 6:59. In the second period, it remained a 2-0 game.


   Getting the Bruins on the board on the power play - Pavel Zacha strikes his 11th goal of the season from the right circle during a 5-on-3 power play. Jonathan Huberdreau got his seventh past Jeremy Swayman, getting the Flames in a two-goal lead. Huberdreau stole the puck from Charlie McAvoy before getting a shot past Swayman. On the power play with 10:16 remaining in the final period, Noah Hanifin scored a backhand shot short side for a 4-1 final.



Brad Marchand on the Bruins 4-1 loss against the Flames: "A little surprised. We had two really good days of practice. I don't really know what happened tonight, but we got to learn from it. We have a really good team coming in here next game that we need to be prepared for."


Pavel Zacha on the Bruins 4-1 loss: "I think they're just a better team today. We had a plan to win a game and we just didn't do it the right way. They outplayed us today. So, that's something we have to learn from."

- Jonathan Huberdreau recorded three points... he had a goal and two assists

- Nazem Kadri recorded three assists

- Andrei Kuzmenko scored in his debut

- Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves for Calgary

- Jeremy Swayman made 25 saves for Boston
