The Arrival of Le Magnifique: The Savior of a City The hype around Mario Lemieux started almost before he even got here. In the mid-1980s, the Pittsburgh Penguins were a punchline—a franchise teetering on the brink of irrelevance. Their arena was a ghost town, their roster a collection of misfits. Then, on a fateful day in 1984, the draft lotte...

Opening the scoring - Jake Neighbours gave St. Louis the lead 1-0 at 7:07 in the first period. After Pavel Buchnevich's attempt to get the puck in from the slot, it was redirected to Neighbours who scored with a backhanded shot at the side of the net on the power play. The Blues kept their 1-0 lead through the remaining time in the first frame.

Kyle Okposo tied the game 1-1 just 51 seconds into the middle frame. Okposo took a pass from Tage Thompson, who circled down low before sending the puck to Okposo in front. The puck hit Okposo's leg, deflected off the stick of Matthew Kessel, and went right into the net. Jordan Kyrou regains the lead for St. Louis with 15:28 remaining in the second period. The puck bounced to Kyrou in the low slot after Colton Parayko's point shot had hit the end of the boards... Kyrou scored his 15th goal of the season with a wrist shot.

Jake Neighbours took advantage of a rebound that bounced to him late into the final period. He scored his second goal of the night and his 17th of the season.

Jake Neighbours on the Blues' 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres: "I thought it was good. I thought we had a lackadaisical second period. Our execution just wasn't there but I thought we had a good start and finished it well."

Jeff Skinner on the Sabres' loss and the lone goal: "I think we can obviously do more, try to get into the inside and get some second chance opportunities - It seemed like we kind of felt like we were going to get a balance and maybe get an easy one but that's just not the way it's going for us right now. So, we just have to dig deep and find a way to get ugly ones until things start feeling better for ourselves."
