His story is one of unrivaled greatness on the ice and a fierce, unwavering loyalty to the city that loved him. The Arrival of Le Magnifique: The Savior of a City The hype around Mario Lemieux started almost before he even got here. In the mid-1980s, the Pittsburgh Penguins were a punchline—a franchise teetering on the brink of irrelevance. Their arena was a ghost town, their roster a collection of misfits. Then, on a fateful day in 1984, the draft lotte...

Sidney Crosby on the Penguins' 3-2 loss and Marc-Andre Fleury's night: "It's something you have to deal with sometimes. We had our chances but, unfortunately, didn't find a way - He made some big saves (Marc-Andre Fleury). Obviously, we pushed pretty hard there late. You always know that he's going to compete and battle, but you still ultimately want to get the two points. It was a really nice ceremony before the game. I thought they did a great job recognizing what he's accomplished. It's great to be a part of that, but you still want to have the bragging rights at the end of the night."

Marc-Andre Fleury on his special night and what he hopes to leave behind: "I hope to be a good role model for them, and hopefully they can remember me playing hockey, people cheering for me and for my team, for our name. It means a lot. Soon I'll be on the couch, not doing much. So, hopefully, they can remember when I was playing hockey."
